Why the Lowa Vertex GTX met Biomex-technology:
The shoe is not only environmently friendly and animal friendly, but also particularly human friendly. It is the first hiking shoe of high quality in the world without any animal products. Not without a reason, in several leading American outdoormagazines the Lowa Vertex GTX is called the shoe of the year.

Biomex-technology:
The biomex-technology focusses on the natural movement of the foot. The ankles are stabilised with a synthetic manchette with an asymetric movement axis. With the traditional shoe technique the turning axis of the shoes shank is adjusted perpendicular on the length of the foot. With the Biomex-technology the turning axis of the shank of the shoe is adjusted asymetrically on the foot. During walking, the knee bends forward. All traditional shoes have a straight construction, at which the knee ends up above the middle toe. However, with a normal unfurling movement the middle of the knee ends up above the big toe. The asymetric Biomex-axis follows this natural movement. This ensures more comfort, less resistance, less fatigue and a better unfurling movement. Besides, the shoe has a lifelong protection function for the ankles, because the synthetic manchette is not worn out. Leather shoes on the other hand lose there stability and firmness because the leather becomes ever softer with frequent use.
